Careful Munch the Coffey machine, which controls this site, will come after you. You should know by now nothing will change and these people will be protected at all costs. They are his supporters and can do anything they want. I have stopped posting because of the attacks. You don’t want to end up like Doc. Yes, Mr. Jones I made a post just to warn Munch, that is all. So you don’t need to come after me.

Worker, nothing to worry about. Just so long as people post things as their opinions as opposed to fact when there is nothing to back it up with. We all have the right to speak what we want. But expect to be challenged if you present things as facts and they are only opinion. It may be a joke around the department like the previous poster mentioned. But obviously the majority of the Department supports Sheriff Coffey and that speaks volumes to combat the comments of that post. Have you ever thought that maybe the people who are complaining are the officers that don’t deserve to be transfered? Most everyone thinks they are the best there is to offer, but that doesn’t mean it is the truth. I support Sheriff Coffey as well as the Fraternal Order of Police. I also know that two recent polls conducted show the current Sheriff with tremendous approval ratings within the community. He does a good job for the citiznes of the county. That is what most people from outside the department gauge.

I voted for Coffey and still support him, he is a nice guy. His weakness is he is afraid to say no to people, he is worried that he will upset someone. He will give anyone what they want at the expense of everyone else. Being Sheriff is about making tough decisions, sometimes it is not always popular. You can’t go around being afraid of hurting feelings. A strong leader will make tough choices and not worry about what someone thinks. Most will respect him for being decisive and choosing a clear path, the ones that don’t you are not going to make happy no matter what you do.

It is a shame that being a nice guy who cares about others is considered attributes of a weak leader. But I agree, there are many who think the way Munch thinks.

Being nice does not make him weak, that is not what I said. It is his inability to say no to people. I feel he is afraid to put his foot down and hurt feelings. Sometimes a leader must do what is in the best interest of the organization and not its members, and he is under no obligation to defend or explain his decisions to anyone. He is the boss, if someone doesn’t like it they can go elsewhere.

Sorry, I misunderstood your post. In particular the bold portion. Nevertheless, there are some who do think of this as a leadership attribute. I for one, like the fact that he cares about others.

Nice turnout yesterday at his fundraiser. The FOP presented him with a check for $1000 as they voted to endorse him last week. Congratulations Rex!!!

Recently I have heard Dave Williams is once again ranting about Coffey bringing in people with him. He is also spouting trash like Coffey has retaliated against members of the Department. First of all, the three people who he brought in with him serve in politically appointed positions. He has every right to do what he did. Williams does not mention who was a victim of retaliation, or even one incident minus the name of the victim. It is easy to spout out lies, but I don’t believe it until I get some facts to back it up. From what I hear, Coffey hired Davis’ son as a Cadet then as a Police Officer. Davis’ sister in law not only was treated great by Coffey but also got a promotion. That does not sound like a man who retaliates. Why can’t Williams talk about issues that concern us as regular folk? Like crime and spending money.

What can Williams argue with about crime rates and the budget - NOTHING - that is why Williams constantly spews hatred and misrepresentations about anything other than the important issues to the voters of this County. Coffey is an outstanding Man, Sheriff and Overall person - the same can not be said for the likes of Dave Williams and his trail of venom.

Yes, Coffey is a very nice man. I like him also. I know that Dave wants to argue with them about crimes rates. I want to see what will happen.
