Twenty-four year old Michael Tresansky is the latest to enter the race for Charles County Commissioner. Tresansky filed as an independent candidate for the District 1 seat.

Democrat Ken Robinson is the only other candidate who has filed as a candidate for District 1, however Samuel Graves (D) has announced his intention to attempt to keep his seat and Board of Education member Jennifer Abell has strongly suggested that she’ll throw her hat in the ring for the Republican ticket. There has even been some chatter, reported here, that Joe Crawford (R) is entering the District 1 race.

Not that its great for Ken- but Ilove seeing more and more interested in running; and especially a young person! A fresh perspective- knowing what the youth want. I think the more diverse the contest the better the outcome. I’m getting optimistic- and for a die hard pessimist thats an amazing feeling.

Having candidates is part of the process.

For the next year and four days, my focus will be in unseating Mr. Graves as the Democratic Party’s nominee.

If I am fortunate enough to be successful, I will then worry about anybody else running for that seat.

Are all candidates aware of the Delusional Duck and invited to register for the site in order to respond, or is it just dumb luck that some find their way here?
