Mr. Coons’ mission in life now is to expose any person who comments on a blog, with their identity that he knows from privileged information; he pledged to keep secret these names that he had put together when he started this amazing blog- The Delusional Duck.
When Mr. Coons tired of the endeavor, he decided to disband the blog and closed it. After speaking with one of his administrators “the Quack” he offered the Blog to the administrators Quack, CCCITIZEN and Sammy.
They have kept it trustworthy, relevant, newsworthy and an important news source for many in Southern Maryland and I thank them for their efforts.
They make no money from this and use their own time and money to keep it going.
Any sources they have can rest assured that any information given, including their identity would not be revealed by any of those 3. You can trust them to keep their Honor and Word. They are people of principle and purpose.

At Least this one time he kept my last name off of it/ maybe it was some legal advice he received.
But I know this is not the end- and especially with a new election cycle looming it will just be more coming.
I have ignored the taunts, the ridicule, and other output from this bully and his sidekicks for over a year. On and on it has come. All because I exist here, in Charles County.
I could have hurt him in many ways. I could also have exposed facts that he may not have wanted reveled about him and also one of his posters, but figured they would get tired and go away. They haven’t.
Instead, he has taken everyone who has agreed with me or seemed supportive of my viewpoints and tormented them with taunts of revealing their identities.

Gleefully, he keeps on. When Quack’s wife left County employment- Mr. Coons was especially pleased announcing it to the World. You see, he thought all his ‘clues of revelation” had gotten her fired. We did not correct his assumption, letting him be pleased with his work. She had found another job to be home more with her family- as 2 parents working shift work was too stressful; he did not get her dismissed.
Pauleen Brewer also revealed who she was because of his harassment, hoping it would go away.
He has kept on because I wanted to keep my identity secret: my husband works for the County and I didn’t want that to interfere with my right to speak out. All the views here are my own. As anyone who knows me can tell you- no one will tell me what to believe. Above all I am an individual and I believe I am a person of high morals and Honor.
All the above is something that as a person of Honor find appalling- and so the reason for this post. I can’t stand by while he taunts others- just because of who I am.
My husband loves his job and hates Politics- he stays out of this. Even if you do not believe it- he hasn’t read the DUCK, ever. He is a very truthful, honorable man and has told no County secrets- he has not had to sign any loyalty oaths and any information I gather does not come from him. He always tells those who ask him to keep a confidence that he doesn’t keep secrets- so don’t tell him any. They don’t.
The other people I know who work for the County has not given me any information; I do not want them blamed either- or be afraid to say hello to me or to cold shoulder my husband.
Any fallout for my husband or any acquaintances from this, falls on Phillip Coons and his cronies shoulders only.
-As a preface- as if this wasn’t enough of a preface:
When I started blogging on the Duck, I had no idea of the identity of anyone. I did not know personally anyone; or so I thought.
One person’s comments I found appealing, well thought out and composed. I assumed by the comments that this person was middle aged. Mr. Coon’s found it amusing when he revealed to me later that Quack was actually related to me; in fact he was my son. Neither of us knew the other was blogging. He also revealed that he was amazed that someone so young could communicate so well and how much he admired that.
I was incredulous- but also secretly pleased; that this commenter that I admired was actually my son. I had no idea he had the views he had or could write so compellingly.
It was only later that I personally met others that contributed to the Duck.
With all this, it will come as: who cares- I am a nobody in the County. At one time I was very involved but after a mini-stroke its side-effects and developing agoraphobia over 10 years ago- I know no one of influence nor no longer belong to anything of consequence or influence.
I am just a wife, a mom of grown children and a grand mom. I am no more or no less than I have presented to you all along in my many identities.

I, in a way pity you tremendously.
Phil Coons has exposed himself as a man whose word means nothing to him . He had given a promise of security ,a public trust with enrollees on/to the DD which he openly violated/violates continually because -though he may be capable of setting up a website-he struggles intellectually in the arena of ideas ,and has nothing else to offer.
Why do you think he only snipes from a safe place w/o ever entering into the public arena of debate..it is a no brainer..like PC..who has no respect for his even his own word which he gave to the public who entrusted him at the duck.

Does not and will not get any respect from others—
This man’s sad sorry behavior , maybe, if a miracle occurs and he ever has a truly introspective moment, will one day cause him to see himself as others see him -without respect even for himself…a sad folly..
SOE -i would not take this adolescent masquerading as an adult too seriously in any fashion -for he has already proved he is good for one thing besides simplistic childish behavior and comment . He has exhibited for us all to see publicly…that-
He is a man whose word means nothing to him -so why should you let it bother you in the least-as he even shows his own words at their core to be worthless in their value .
The man simply cant be trusted -he has made that clear to all of us with the breech in his promise of privacy at the DD. I too feel sorry for this fella-but don’t let him rile you-I am not sure he even begins to understand his disconnects—some people sadly never do…

I hope your mother in law gets well soon, and all of your family is able to share the upcoming Thanks Giving and Christmas season-Together.. there is a season for everything..now is not the time for me or you to carry on a fued.

Water works- you are a gentlman- I also agree with your sentiments. My problem is with something else entirely- illnesses of parents and crisis’s in family are of personal concern and require dedication. I wish and pray for your mother in law and your wife and daughter thru this time.
I can say from a personal, as well as this online community knowledge of Barbara she is a wonderful human being! “Top shelf” in all areas and one all of us could learn from; and should.
Rick- after finally meeting you and having a ‘heart to heart’ that means a lot- some people talk- but I know you dont make empty statements. I appreciate it and hope it hasnt hurt the delusional duck= a forum I think that is so important to Charles COunty Citizens.
Mr Coons has only hurt himself. This moment -while it is present- could be the siver lining in the cloud for him, if the adult in him was able to admit that he should have handled a matter of personal privacy which he gave his word on as a blog manager with a lot more respect for others , and in the end, his own self/word….to fail to do so will just lead him further down the road to nowhere..i am rooting for him .

Very intriguing synopsis of the reasons for several identities. No, I don’t know you. I do remember the day that the Duck went off the air. No warning, no apology—nothing. Then, I was surprised when it came back under new Administrators. I’m certainly not an insider on this blog and have only known one poster over the years. I’m happy to not know posters so that I can be free to ‘Give’m Hell’ on a topic without worrying about getting personal with my mother!!

Just? From what I have read of your post, you should be proud of the hats you wear, all of which are truly full time, 24/7, jobs - you never get to leave work.
Now, excuse me, but I feel the urge to tell my wife something I may have been a bit negligent in saying lately.
Clif, I dont know who you are; but thank you, very much. In the past week I have met quite a few folks ( I admit I had to take prescribed medication to ‘go out there’- it doesnt change who I am- people meet the real me) and I have enjoyed these encounters- every one has been very kind and genually friendly. We can have a difference of philosophy and have discussions, hear each other and appreciate where the other point of view came from- the best in interactions.
Understanding elightened viewpoints from someones personal experience not from indoctrination- you have to admire the thought, the experiences and why it is there even if you do not agree with the conclusion.
We need to appreciate the individual who thinks; we need to appreciate the individuls who cares truly. Not what party, religion, ethnicity, social class, education level catergorizes them.
We probably would/will not agree 100% with each other. If we did, it seems to me we wouldn’t have much to discuss, but that doesn’t, by any means, prevent us from having thoughtful discussions. I may seem blunt at times, probably my German side, but my intentions are to communicate, not to attack anyone.
