Our commissioners would practice willful ignorance to proceed without an EIS. Will they accept personal responsibility for the loss of Mattawoman and the tourism dollars it generates? We don’t want to lose the living resources of Mattawoman because we ignored the significance of our actions.
In April 2000, an oil pipeline that starts in Piney Point ruptured at the Chalk Point Generating Plant at the southeast point in Prince George’s County, spilling 110,000 gallons into the Patuxent River. It’s no secret that professional journalists don’t have very high opinions of bloggers, and for that I suppose they could be forgiven for the snub, or should I say oversight. However, imho, I feel it was a newsworty event, if for no other reason it is indicative of the way the Cooper administration continues to operate (read that as lies and deceit).
