State House looks for any sign of cheer in tough economy
You could call it good news — or at least the kind of news that raises ephemeral hopes in the middle of a recession.
Budget Secretary T. Eloise Foster seemed happy revenues for the year would slip “only” $66 million. And a health care lobbyist was practically ecstatic that a Republican senator said he might vote in favor of a tax increase that could bring in more revenue.
