This organization did not register until 12/8/2011 as a non-profit.  When were the first advertisements ran in the Indy stating they were a non-profit organization?

  • 1. · Please note, from the application, Mr. Scott is not just the resident agent/attorney for this organization, he is the Vice President. One question remains - who is the President?

formerly known on the ‘Duck as CCCitizen and, unless otherwise stated, any opinions expressed are those of my own.

Another question remains, How is it that Commissioner Vice President Collins works for this Scott Law Group, and that is not a conflict of interest, or Ethics matter?

From Commissioner Collins BIO page at the County Site:

    http://www.charlescounty.org/commissioners/bios_reuben_collins.pdf

Commissioner Collins is currently of counsel in La Plata, Maryland, at the law firm, The Scott Law Group, LLC.

  • 3. · From Here: Our Vision

To represent the interest of citizens, both individually and corporately in land use and economic matters, with regard to legislative decision being contemplated by local County, Municipal or State governments, when the interests of the Corporation need to be voiced.
This is confusing to me...the organization represents citizens both individually and corporately when the interests of "the Corporation" need to be voiced. They stress that this not a "developers" group, but a citizens'/landowner group but only as it relates to the interests of the Corporation?

102 Centennial, La Plata....Guess who's address that is? One guess.

  • 15. · I do have to admire how those who have the money and connections are suing it; of course manipulating the truth somewhat to alarm the regular folks is standard procedure.

We the people have no organization/ funds or support.
Imagine if we did and were able to reach out to others.

But it also should make us happy: for the first time they are running a bit scared and are using all the tricks.

Its the first time the people have had it so close.

    Well, lets see..
    1. a full page ad in the indy. 1500.00
    2. a website with a form letter generator. almost free.
    3. a front organization with a nice brochure. a couple hundred bucks..

    4. Understanding and use of the Social network.. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube... PRICELESS.

Citizens can, and ARE running circles around these rookies.. but at least they are trying to catch up.. grin

  • 17. · Okay- how do we get brochures or postcards out- the printers mailing list?

I am overwhelmed starting and keeping up my 2 websites- anyone else can do that.

We also need to come up with just 4 or 5 simple points.

Also we need to do that by personal emails.

  • 18. · Stand By.. i personally don't waste time with postcards and brochures.. we DO produce flyers for certain events - but have at it -- those things cost money..

one example of what we did in nanjemoy .. besides owning the blogosphere -- facebook, and youtube -- and very large eMailing list -- for our little local - issue..

    http://www.nanjemoyblindquirrels.com

we have a NEW county wide effort taking shape.. - with a consortium of interests.. coming together.

it will be FUN and exciting. Just in time to counter the JULY deadline the (4) Planning Commissioners are trying to force.. for a Comp Plan Vote -- Ha.. they have NO clue..

Yea, they were the ONLY two that actually sited the compliance issues that WSG did not meet, and noted how the COUNTY could not possibly monitor compliance. The other 3 members only rambled on, had already made up their mind.. for some reason. led by Luke Hannah of Hannah Construction Company.

I'm sure it had nothing to with the promised $3.5 Million Construction project to build this facility.
