Bill #2008-14 Historic Preservation Commission
Notice is hereby given that the County Commissioners of Charles County will hold a consolidated Public Hearing on matters concerning the establishment of an Historic Preservation Commission and creation of an historic preservation property tax credit on October 22, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. in the County Commissioner’s Meeting Room located in the Charles County Government Building, La Plata, Maryland.
The proposed amendment would establish an Historic Preservation Commission, their powers and duties, and a process for the designation of and review of historic properties. The amendment will add Article XXX - Historic Preservation Commission to Chapter 297 - Zoning Regulations, Code of Charles County, Maryland.
The proposed amendment would establish a property tax credit for 10% of certified rehabilitation expenses for historic properties by adding to Chapter 281 - Taxation, Article VIII - Real Property Tax, Code of Charles County, Maryland
