BREAKING: Johnnie DeGiorgi asked to leave National Night Out…

...by the Facilities Manager (anyone know who that might be?) at the Nanjemoy Community Center tonight. Sources tell me that DeGiorgi, who already has announced his intentions to challenge District 2 Commissioner Edith Patterson in 2010, was passing out school supplies with his name on them, when asked to leave. If my memory serves me correctly, Edith was doing the same thing at last years event. I understand that DeGiorgi has moved to the other side of the road where he continues to hand out supplies. GO JOHNNIE!!!

  • 1. · What kind of world do we live in where GOOD Citizen's of the Community get's kicked out on National Night Out. This was sad because it's ALL about the kids and SO WHAT if DeGiorgi wants to hand out literature that says "VOTE for DeGiorgi"!

Are the County Commissioners making this a company town where only their voices are heard?

  • 2. · A few questions from a guy who has served on a couple of community association boards over the years. What sort of position does "the Rev" hold that he can unilaterally remove board members and appoint new ones? Is this community association structured anywhere near like the ones in St. Charles, complete with by-laws governing such things? Also, a meeting of the membership doesn't do any good unless a quorum is present (typically 10% of the association's membership) to vote on something. Does he actually get a quorum at every meeting? This all sounds pretty interesting. I'd like to hear more about how this association is set-up.

  • 3. · Was DeGiorgi and Patterson handing out School Supplies together? Was Patterson handing out anything with her name on it and let me guess she stayed about 10 min. and left!

  • 4. · In the movie "Its a Wonderful Life", what is the name of the nightmare town? Pottertown? I am so tired of living in Pottertown. If we don't stand up and do something, we disgrace our American heritage. This is a clear free speech violation.

  • 5. · If the WCCCA's community center is the private property of the association, as is the case in all the St. Charles neighborhoods, they may have the legal right to prevent him from campaigning on their property. I would disagree with that decision. In fact, in my neighborhood we've had many candidates for public office come through during NNO, handing out pens or buttons or gallon jugs of moonshine (man, I miss the good old days!) or what have you.

  • 6. · I've heard that Patterson has "higher" goals, i.e. State office or appointment.

Good nite nurse, she can't even handle a Commissioner's position with any kind of integrity or competence!!

BTW I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY RESPONSE FROM HER TO ANY OF MY LETTERS - AT LEAST HALF A DOZEN!

  • 7. · Also, this "Reverend" should be checked out - sounds to me like he's mixing Church and State functions into one!!

  • 8. · School Supplies were being handed out at Nanjemoy Community center which is employeed by County staff. DeGiorgi set up a table right next door to the community center in 95 plus temps in all that heat while others where inside in A/C. DeGiorgi handled it very well not to made a scene at all. I can see Rex now slapping the cuffs on DeGiorgi now while all the little kids watching. No he did the right thing by setting up outside.

Good thing he wasn't playing Santa at Christmas time to hand out toys. I can read the newspapers now. SANTA GET'S LOCK UP!

  • 12. · CC VOTER would that be so bad? But I agree and maybe it's Patterson that is worried knowing he is right on her heels.

  • 13. · Again I pose the question, "What does it take to impeach a sitting commissioner?" Let's get it going folks before Marx and Lenin come back from the dead to take up the cause with comrades Cooper, Patterson and Hodge.
