The Charles County CART (County Animal Response Team) program has been invited and will participate in “Volunteer Day” on Sunday, August 29th during the Maryland State Fair held in Timonium. CART will have the opportunity to show visitors the scope of disaster preparedness and response in Maryland.
This invitation provides Charles County a unique opportunity to show its leadership and dedication to helping animals in disasters. The Charles County CART display will be at the entrance to the “Cow Palace” pavilion.
The Charles County Department of Emergency Services/Animal Control Division is recruiting volunteers to assist in the response to animals during disasters such as tornadoes, fire, electrical storms, and more.
