Charles County Prepares for Hanna’s Impact

Charles County Government has taken the following actions in order to ensure the safety of all citizens:

● A phone number has been established for persons who may need information or non-emergency assistance during Tropical Storm Hanna. The number is301-609-3435 and will become active as of 6 a.m., Saturday, September 6. For emergency situations, citizens are still asked to call 911.

  • 1. · By about 5 or 6 pm yesterday the news seemed to tell us it was just a "normal" storm moving thru the area. Just a couple months ago we had storms with much much higher winds and we dont het this hysteria.

    The media machine just makes everything so boring- they get everyone hysterical- rush to the scenes with their microphones - build up the scenerio and then a "tropical storm" happens much more than a catastrophe.

    Is it a good thing to do this? If it is a big one, folks ar e prepared- but when its not, havent a lot of people wasted time and precious resources for nothing.

    Think of all the trees that must be felled just to fulfill the TP panic.
