  • 2. · For gosh sakes, can someone teach Edith and Mr. Fink not to put the mic IN their mouth..

the audio quality is squat.. almost purposely annoying !! Oh thats right, the Media Group was disbanded as well...

  • 3. · The whole night the microphones were a problem- they either stuck them to far in their mouth or spoke with them to far away.

You would think that with the money spent- that we couple hear the words of the durn people.

I wish you could have heard the DR Patterson trying to establish dominance and take control- she could not.

The great thing is I think Lenhart may have listened but i Dont think the Commissioners did- I think they just sat thru it in resignation to the fact - that they had to arrest everyone or just submit.

    Incredible.. simply incredible!!

Why didn't Nanjemoy RISE up like this early on with the WSG issue.. -- in the heart of Nanjemoy Village... oh thats right, there was no public notice prior to 14 days before the Feb. 24 hearing, and the Commissioners were told to NOT talk to us.....because it was a pending "legal" issue,......

    I Sit Stunned !! And Pissed !!!!!

And I'm listening to ALL of the Commissioners, saying, OH Sorry...."regretting"... "lapse on our part" -- "Lesson learned".. our bad, lets move on...

    WOW!!

  • 7. · Just watched the short clip. What's up with Fink stabbing the air with his index finger and then pounding it up and down on his little desktop? Guess that tells ya' who's really runnin' the county! And what's with Sam Graves? Why didn't he step up and go to bat for his District One constituents rather than sit there staring out at the audience?

    SHEEEESH!!!!!!!!!!!! gulp

  • 10. · Jo Anholt: "In all this two years not one of you thought to communicate to the people of Cliffton?"

Roger Fink: "There was no discussion with the County Commissioners. The County Commissioners were not informed of discussions until a comprehensive proposal was put together by Mr. Lenhart probably within the last couple of months."

Jo Anholt: "And in the last couple months none of you thought to communicate to the people?"

Roger Fink: "Well... obviously not. But, thats quite typical for large scale projects that are planned over time that involve these kinds of things. Its just the way it is.

Jo Anholt: "No, its not the way it is, its they way you did it."

  • 11. · The back story on this video is that the county had no intention of posting this on line until Ken Robinson purchased the DVD. They decided it would be better on the county website than on Ken’s which is what happened with the secret economic development meeting at the college. I think Ken’s website is the only place that meeting was ever posted.

    Perhaps Ken can confirm this.

Comment by Julia Charles  on  08/30/10  at  04:28 PM | [Back to Top] | [Back to Main]
  • 12. · You can consider that confirmed. A DVD was purchased by one of the Delusional Duck Administrators. None of us on Delusional Duck had the video software that could rip the county's DVD to a format we could post online -- we reached out to Ken Robinson who we knew did have the video software. He graciously converted the video and posted it online his website for all to see.

  • 13. · We went through the same thing in Nanjemoy....
Nanjemoy Net became a distribution portal.. since the county would not share it.....

That was before DIGITAL STREAMING of course...
miraculously started appearing AFTER the Docket 1232 issues....

    we streamed it ourselves...

    get er done !!

I'm already thinking of the Clifton/Nanjemoy Alliance for Freedom and Communication.... - forming up!!

  • 14. · Regarding the Cliffton video, I requested a DVD last week and was told by a very helpful county employee that it would not be available until today (Monday) at the earliest. When I asked about getting it on line, I was told that was another story. It would take a very long time to render the video. I made it clear I would render it in a couple of hours and post it. It miraculously showed up on the county’s website today.

For the record, the county employee phoned me this morning to let me know the DVD was waiting for me at the front desk and would be mine when I paid the ten dollars. It was and I did.

We really do have great county employees. It will be nice when they no longer have to work in an environment of fear.

I am also glad everyone can witness what the Cliffton folks did last week. It was truly the most amazing performance by a community I have ever seen and I have a part of and witness to many.

  • 15. · thats pretty impressive actually, when we started fishing for DVD copies of 1232 hearings, we were told 10 DAYS... than pay our $10.00.... but no streaming at all...

so we waited, then we would rip it up, distribute it..... and soon after, the county learned of transparency.... i guess.....
started streaming..and you can get it sooner now!! --

    5 days is impressive !!!

  • 16. · The DVD and the on line streaming should have been available by Thursday morning. In fact the meeting itself should have been streamed live on the web. This is 2010.

  • 17. · okay cutting edge video geek...
i said the same thing in 2009..

dont even get me started on (taxpayer paid) WIFI access to citizens IN A MEETING ... - - - in the ROOM.... The next commissioners should encourage folks to bring their laptops and tech....... not hide behind a security blanket....

I was flatly told I COULD NOT USE THE WIFI in the commissioners room.. tho anyone, could use their 3G card in the hall.....

-- I did anyway, easy walk around.. with a guest account.... sniffed out the WAP.. SSID.. and using 10.0.0.1

  • 19. · I think it goes without saying (but I'm going to say it anyway) what a spectacular job the citizens of Cliffton on the Potomac did.

In the second clip (Cliffton on the Potomac BOCC 2), was anyone else dismayed at how poorly our Commissioner Vice President, acting-Commissioner President and Commissioner President candidate, Edith Patterson, handled this meeting?

Comment by The Quack  on  08/30/10  at  05:30 PM | [Back to Top] | [Back to Main]
  • 20. · I think if we get new Seating of Commissioners we all should be allowed to video as long it is not in the way of people participating.

That way we dont have to wait for an official DVD although there should be one for the record.

I love it when Mr Loredo I believe says you are insulting us with the looping of faces that would be neighbors for affordable housing! He said who do you think already live here?

I really just wish we had the video of the Commissioners while the speakers ere speaking- priceless.

"YOU'RE OUT OF ORDER!" Pretty damn sad when this is the best recourse a Commissioner President candidate has when confronted by upset citizens!

We already spent $35,000 in 2008 to put in that sounds system (and the rest of the audio/video) in the renovated auditorium.

  • 26. · Praise God that we got to move out of this skanky county.
Overtaxed, crime-ridden, and big old loosers serving as county commissioners.

You've got to have an IQ<70 to vote Patterson back in.

Send her back to PG county.
