Commissioners Name Director of Economic Development
The Charles County Commissioners are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. George L. Robertson as Director of Economic Development. Mr. Robertson will assume his position with Charles County Government on Monday, August 4, 2008.
Mr. Robertson has nearly 40 years of experience in the field of economic development, holding a number of top-ranking business positions. Since 2006, he served as the first Chief Executive Officer of Cenla Advantage Partnership (CAP) in an 11-parish economic development organization in Alexandria, Louisiana. In this role, Mr. Robertson developed and implemented numerous programs to address existing workforce issues in the small, urban centers, small towns, and rural areas of Central Louisiana.
- 1. · If he was doing such an outstanding job in Louisiana, why is he coming here??
I just wonder what kind of job he did in Louisiana....

Why is everything SO negative?

I'm suspect of just about any decisions coming from them...sorry if that offends you, but given the pro-development and reckless spending habits of this group, I'm sure I'm not alone in this manner of thinking....

The job was open. Someone was going to be hired. It is unlikely Mother Theresa was available.

But like I said, it was this group of Commissioners who hired him and I'm sorry, I don't trust their decisions...but hopefully he'll be wonderful and I'll be proven wrong....we shall see....

The skybox is specifically used by the Economic Development Department of Charles County Government as a tool to entertain individuals and corporations seeking to do business and bring revenue to Charles County.
It is not for personal use by any of the Commissioners, County executives, or employees of Charles County Government.
The skybox was purchased for one season at the price of $20,000.

I sincerely wish Mr. Robertson the best in his new job for us, and hope that the Commissioners and Mr. Comfort allow him to do what he apparently is very good at.

I think we all need to write and tell him no COAL Plants or Polluting factories... and what we do want as Citizens- maybe he can mediate between the needs of the citizens and the needs of the County.
