CSA nixes Brandywine rubble fill, affirms decision by Prince George’s council
A gravel-mining company’s nine-year quest to open a rubble fill on its property in Prince George’s County has been dealt another setback in the state’s second-highest court.
The Court of Special Appeals affirmed the County Council’s determination that Brandywine Sand and Gravel Co. failed to meet the requirements for a special exception it needed to operate the rubble fill on property zoned for open space.
G. Macy Nelson, the Towson lawyer who has represented the citizens group throughout the legal proceedings, said his clients were “euphoric” about the decision.
“It’s been a battle,” he said.
