Voters can go to polls through Thursday
It was 10 minutes before polling stations opened on the first day of early voting in Charles County, and 20 people were lined up, ready to cast their ballots.
“I want to avoid the crowd on Election Day,” Lisa Greene of Waldorf said from the front of the line at the Charles County elections board in La Plata, the designated early voting center for the county.
This is the first year early voting has taken place in Maryland. Maryland voters supported a referendum establishing it in 2008.
