Kohl’s will anchor center if parcel annexation is approved

Site is now occupied by Mitchell Supply store

Maryland Independent, by NANCY BROMLEY McCONATY

Kohl’s department store is slated to anchor the La Plata Crossing complex on the south side of Rosewick Road in La Plata if a proposed annexation of about 15 acres of land is approved next month by town elected officials.
[...]
No one spoke during the public hearing on the proposed annexation nor did anyone offer testimony during a public hearing to amend the Rosewick Crossing annexation agreement during the meeting. The proposed amendment to the Rosewick Crossing agreement would ensure that all of the terms of the agreement would comply with the La Plata Crossing annexation agreement if it is approved by the council, Wright said.

  • 2. · No - NOT YET!

Remember, there are 5,000 new homes that will be built in Heritage Green, which will be part of the Town of LaPlata, plus a couple thousand more at Stagecoach Crossing, south of LaPlata.

Obviously, the market research conducted by these companies indicates a huge population boom in Charles County.

I'm sure they also anticipate the CCC extension, which will allow for thousands of more homes and then there's the 10,000 "residential units" that ACPT will be building along Piney Church Road and 488...

    Sad, isn't it??
