Md. slots unlikely to hit budget figures
The odds are that slot machines in Maryland will have difficulty generating the millions of dollars projected by gambling supporters, based on national trends and experiences in other states that have long used gambling to supplement spending.
Officials from states that legalized slot machines more than a decade ago said they found that revenue decreases unless more machines are added and hours of operation are extended, which presents a problem in Maryland because the slots plan caps the number of machines at 15,000 and assumes they operate 365 days a year.

- 1. · What is going on? Taxes increased, services decreased, deficits increased? Is their anyone in State government who knows what is going on? Maryland is the 4th highest taxed State in the Union and one of the smallest in size and is totally in debt in spite of 1/2 of the lucretive Federal employee population residing here that is virtually job secure. I'm willing to vote against every incumbant in the next election without regard of who is good or bad since the good ones obviously have been powerless to restrain the bad ones and the bad ones are on a rampage of destruction. Get a list of incumbants to take into the voting booth and make sure you don't vote for any one of them.
