  • 1. · what one thing can you today to make somebodys day better or our community better.
It can be a so small thing- or something bigger.

Only when we all make up our mind to be pleasent and to do at least one small thing a day will our community improve.

We all know we under the National Rain Cloud (as one song says) Well. how bout the Clouds part and the Sun shine on SMD?

And how about listing here one small thing? or big thing you will promise to do (not for who- that anonymous).

Lets let the light shine in.

    * One thing I do :
I let people into line at stores and while in my vehicle when there is traffic- give a wave and a smile. ( I really try to do this daily- when I dont, its cause I am distracted)

  • 2. · This week is MS Awareness Week. I think most of us know at least one or more suffering here in SMD- In the last 10 years I have met or been friends with at least 15.
Lets be aware and try to raise awareness

Post it on you FB page and spread the word.

  • 3. · It's also Census week for me. I know this because our wasteful Government sent me a notice via US Mail that the census form will be arriving (via US Mail) later this week. And to think, some people want the Government to control our health care. Geeeez.

  • 4. · Thanks Maria- trying to add cheer and a little niceness to our existence I see.

Anyone else can add something they can do to make life better for our community?

  • 5. · Sorry, I thought this was the "open thread". Must have posted in the wrong place.

  • 6. · As Oscar Wilde once said, "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." The government sucks just as bad for all of us. But some of us refuse to allow that to inform our day to day existence as much as others do.

  • 7. · MBILLARD: cleaning up my messes still smile I try to be an optimist (hard for a pessimist to do) and bring disgrace upon myself.

Maria you are right. Our past made me automatically see your post as a "bite me" kind of exchange. So I did the opposite of what I was asking others to do; which was lets try to make our community nicer.

I was sarcastic when I should have been kind.

Please excuse me- I'm human- I'm tired of negatively everyday- and with eyes on the sky expected results from a few words- and snapped at you when there was none.

    Again I'm sorry.

And MBILLARD needs to give me lessons; maybe a bunch of us lessons.

  • 8. · Today i shopped for the contents of two silent auction items. one is for the fundraiser Pauline mentioned on the 20th and the other is for the Truman-Kennedy dinner. They are going to be very similar, so if you don't get it at the fundraiser in Bel Alton, you can try again at the dinner.

And although it's hokey and ridiculous, today I bought a solar powered garden gnome for the little area my husband carved out of the yard for himself.

  • 9. · Way in the back near my woods- I have a hokey and ridiculous garden just fr crazy grandmom (it embarrasses everyone) It has the pink flamingos and garden gnomes- I'd love a fairy that is solar powered; but its in the shade.

We all need some fun and I hope he appreciates it.
