Prince George’s County is moving closer to having a high-end Whole Foods Market grocery store that would be part of a mix of housing and retail development in College Park.
The Washington Post reports the county Planning Board approved plans Thursday for the Cafritz family developers to build a complex that would include the store (http://wapo.st/z77t5e ).
The complex also would include a 120-room hotel, 168,000 square feet of retail space, and 995 residential units, along with office space. Officials hope building the new store will send a message to other developers that projects can thrive in the county.
