Public Shelters Opening in Tri-County Area as Hanna Approaches
Local governments in Charles, St. Mary’s, and Calvert Counties have announced plans to open public shelters in anticipation of high winds, flooding, electrical outages, and possible tornadoes that may be produced by Tropical Storm Hanna as the storm begins its move through the State.
Currently, the National Weather Service has placed the entire Southern Maryland region under a Tropical Storm Warning. This warning means that tropical storm conditions could begin affecting the region within the next 24 hours.
