Republicans scale down convention because of Gustav
Republicans today dramatically scaled back their presidential nominating convention as Hurricane Gustav targeted the Gulf Coast, and they sought to recast it from a partisan event to one focused on the impending natural disaster.
“We are facing a great national challenge,” John McCain, the expected presidential nominee, said. Speaking by video to reporters assembled here for the Republican National Convention, the Arizona senator said it was necessary to “take off our Republican hats and put on our American hats.”

- 1. · Good move...this is not the time to celebrate. Once the storm subsides in a day or so, it should be fine.

I also received an e-mail from Obama asking me to donate to the red cross. I guess he had to copy from the Republicans to make himself look good.
